Surgery & Palliative Care

The Surgery & Palliative Care Collective

Passionate about surgery and palliative care? Interested in getting more active on Instagram? Come do it with us.

Posting on your own can feel awkward, or like one more thing on the list. Here you don’t start from scratch. We bring the ideas, the templates, and each other, and you coauthor posts alongside colleagues who get it.

Surgery has a long, deep history of palliative care.

Dr. Geoffrey Dunn is a living legend. He helped bring palliative care into surgical practice and showed so many of us that relieving suffering has always been part of a surgeon’s work.

That wisdom belongs to all of us. Let’s share it.

How it works

Each post takes on one common myth about surgery, palliative care, or serious illness in a short Instagram carousel.

We draft together, check it for accuracy, and post it as an Instagram collab, so it shows up on every coauthor’s profile. Up to six accounts can share one post, and we rotate so everyone gets a turn.

Jump in as much or as little as you like: suggest a topic, review a draft, coauthor a post, or share it. You can say no to any post.

Want to join us?

You don’t need a big following or a lot of Instagram experience. You just need an account with:

  • Your real name clearly visible.
  • Your involvement in palliative care stated in your profile.
  • A real photograph of yourself.

Never posted before? You’re exactly who this is for.

Better understanding begins with better conversations. Let’s have them together.
